British Supervisory authority in the field of Internet technologies and security in the network indicates the growing popularity of cryptocurrency buyers prohibited content.
In his annual report of the British Supervisory body the Internet Watch Foundation said that from January to April have identified 37 sites that sell photos with child porn for cryptocurrency. Obscene or illegal images were hidden in folders and placed on legitimate servers, and after payment of the references to them were delivered to customers under the guise of Internet spam.
IWF announces the beginning of systematic work with the largest bitcoin exchanges on the development of effective strategies to prevent the use of cryptocurrency to buy forbidden photos and videos.
Director of public relations IWF Emma hardy explains: "the Facts of purchase of child pornography for bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies first came to our attention last year. We will work tirelessly to fight the commercialization of this criminal content, since it has both demand and supply in the network. In connection with the emergence of new payment instruments, we consider it necessary to engage the services exposed by the issuers of crypto currencies, curbing the trade in pornography and catching criminals".
Experts in the field of cryptocurrency recognize that unilaterally implement the intention of the Supervisory authority in practice will be extremely difficult because all transactions with bitcoins are held in encrypted form. Without the active participation of cryptocurrency services in the suppression of criminal activity to stop the sale of child pornography for bitcoins is almost impossible.
